By helping Acupuncture for the World, the ALMAYUDA FOUNDATION is supporting a preventive and curative therapy aimed at regions and peoples who do not have easy access to healthcare.
Acupuncture for the World is an independent, not-for-profit organisation affiliated to Acupuncture without Borders (ASFI) that designs and runs quality practical training in acupuncture in regions that do not have easy access to this therapy. This training is aimed at doctors, nurses and other people working in healthcare provision.

The Acupuncture for the World team consists of Spanish professionals, experts and volunteers, all of whom are qualified in acupuncture: doctors, midwives, nurses and kinesiotherapists.
A complementary tool
The organisation’s aim is to provide a therapeutic tool that is both preventive and curative and which complements conventional and traditional medical approaches.
The ALMAYUDA FOUNDATION has been sponsoring the activity of Acupuncture for the World for a number of years in India but also in Barcelona, where it has helped the homeless and people at risk of social exclusion.
Mission à Cuba
Cuba is one of the latest training missions carried out by Acupuntura Para El Mundo. 25 healthcare professionals – medical, dental and science students, as well as nurses – took part in courses on the theme of acupuncture-based pain treatment in Santiago de Cuba in June 2024.
The courses were held in three different hospitals, treating some thirty patients with excellent results.
The motivation of the participants, their very high level of knowledge of acupuncture theories and basic treatment techniques, proved to be completely at odds with the equipment of Cuban health structures. Few medicines, practically no needles and no sterilization equipment…
During its stay on the island, the association donated 6,000 new, sterile acupuncture needles, 30 moxas, an electrical stimulation device, a female mannequin representing the acupuncture points, photocopies of notes and bibliographical information to the University…
His diagnosis for the future is that the needs in Cuba are less about the level of knowledge – which can easily be reinforced by videoconferencing cycles – than about the lack of practices, equipment and books.
